Gardening Information

What does Garden Club Do?

The short answer is that we garden, have fun, make money and give it back to the community in the form of plants and needed items.  Each year we have a "contribution" budget to give to the community. One year we gave a defibrillator to the fire department to use each time the ambulance is deployed.  Last year we gave money for the school courtyard,  inside plants and containers, and an IPod which was used to raise money for the PTA.  We also give money to the Fallen Heroes Fund and H.A.R.M., (Help A Recovering Marine) wounded soldier funds, and to the Sunnyvale Fire Department to purchase needed training and equipment.  We have landscaped and maintained around the library, and, until last year, when the Town took over the area, the "Welcome to Sunnyvale" sign on Town East Blvd.  We also have lots of fun, learn about horticulture and design, and make friends!   Our programs are always informative and we also have "hands on" symposiums when we get to make creative things such as garden stepping stones, tea-cup bird feeders, and lighted Christmas glass blocks, to name a few.  Our Club also meets 2-3 times each Garden club year during the evening, in order to give our working members the opportunity to enjoy the meetings.  These gathering places vary, so look at the "News" section to find out where the meeting is to occur.   Except on special occasions, we meet the second Tues. of the month at the Town Hall Center, 127 Collins Rd., Sunnyvale TX (10:00 a.m.)  Contact any of the members at the "Contact Us" page and we would love to talk to you about our meetings.

COME  join us and make some new friends!
